I first saw Emscripten a few years ago. It compiled C++ to Javascript. My mind boggled! How cool! This year at Game Developers Conference there was a talk showing that Emscripten plus asm.js could run C++ games in the browser with good performance. I was amazed.

SimBlob. This is the project that got me interested in tile games, hex maps, pathfinding, road drawing, economic simulation, AI, and procedural map generation. GAZETTE — In late April YoYo Games announced that they were doubling their staff and relocating their office to a larger office space on the top floor of DundeeOne development. The new staff size goal is 50 in total (it's currently 25) and will fill positions such as: systems development, software engineering, sales and customer service.

GAZETTE — Softwrap (popularly known as SoftCrap among a vast number of GM users in the Game Maker Community) handles registration upgrades (GM Lite to GM Pro). Softwrap was to distribute GameMaker without fear of piracy (as they do with many other products). Sandy Duncan just received the following letter from Softwrap which he says "will make some long term GameMaker devs smile quite a bit"....
